Why I Got Into Web Development

Programming and computers was something that peaked my interest after years of working at a public library. A huge part of my job was problem solving. And there were patrons that came in often with technical issues or patrons who needed help with our computers. I’ve always been a weird mix of both creative and analytical.

I love problem solving and figuring out how things work. I love building things and creating things. Web Development is in high demand and a great option for freelancing. As I looked into programs where I could learn and still live in my home town while working the part time job I enjoyed I found that web development was one of the more common online programs. I still do love working at the library but the job is only part time and full time positions aren’t an option. I wanted to start in a career where I could afford to live comfortably and still love what I do.

I finally found a program at Lansing Community College and although it’s been challenging the challenge is quite full-filling. It gives me a sense of purpose and something productive to do everyday and best of all keeps my mind sharp. I have had bumps in the road but have learned so much about myself and Web Development.
